Stronger connections for well-being and motivation

I-ACT's Organizational Well-Being framework calls upon Conscious Leaders to foster authentic relationships in organizations. In this excellent Harvard Business Review article, Dr. Vivek Murthy, a former U.S. surgeon general, explores why loneliness feels so much more prevalent in our modern world, and suggests ways to make connecting at work an organizational priority.

He points out that doing so is good for our health and for business; people with strong social connections at work report being more engaged, which leads to higher-quality results.

One of his recommendations: Take five minutes during staff meetings to let people share stories about their lives using pictures. It’s an easy means of helping your employees feel connected to one another.
