Book on Out-of-Body Experience Science & Practice features I-ACT co-founder

Many discussions surrounding phenomena such as out-of-body experiences focus on debating whether or not such experiences are "real" or not. Such debates often overlook the obvious: these can be extraordinary experiences that can have positive, transformative, inspirational, or creative effects on individuals - regardless of their ultimate nature. The fact that they are naturally-occuring and the object of human fascination and inspiration throughout the times is reason enough to study them. In other posts, we discussed how such experiences have played an important role in the rise of the design and information age and how they can be important for personal and societal change in these times of crises, when we seek a new story for humanity.

The Centre for Exceptional Human Potential (Melbourne, Australia) has just released an e-book anthology edited by Alexander De Foe, PhD, an academic and counseling psychologist interested in exploring altered and transcendent states of human consciousness.

Consciousness Beyond the Body: Evidence and Reflections presents the latest theories, research, and applications of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) and other consciousness states that transcend the limitations of one’s physical body space. It features original chapters from leading international researchers, educators, and practitioners who specialise in OBEs. As a modern compilation on the ​​topic, the book aims to meld contemporary scientific evidence with the latest and most compelling practical applications of OBEs.

The volume's opening chapter is by I-ACT co-founder Nelson Abreu that aims to define the nature of the out-of-body experience experience. It features other prominent OBE practitioners and authors: Luis Minero, Ed Kellogg, Ryan Hurd, Robert Peterson, Preston Dennett, Graham Nicholls, Jurgen Ziewe, Clare Johnson, Robert Waggoner, Alexander De Foe, Natasha Tassell-Matamua, Anthony Peake, and Robert Bruce.
